Library Services Centre The Library Services Centre provides innovative, high quality, customer-focused library services including digital and information literacies and use of learning technologies, research skills, information resources, scholarly and cultural collections, and learning facilities that contribute to and enhance the Universitys learning, teaching, and research goals. The Library delivers a wide range of online resources and services to all campus and study locations and to clients both on and off-campus. The Library is also responsible for the overall management and control of the Universitys record keeping program including the governance and management of business information and the provision of advisory services to Schools and Business Centres on record keeping best practices. The Opportunity This is your chance to play your part in the launch of this unprecedented project, as we look towards our opening to students in 2026. As Campus Transition - Library Technician, you will support the transition of the Library Services Centre into the City Campus. The role will support the review, rationalisation and relocation of the Librarys collections across various campuses to ensure a smooth, effective and efficient integration into the new City Campus location. Key responsibilities of the role include: Support the final phase of the Library Collections review across all campuses, to ensure alignment with University needs and space requirements at each location. Provide support in planning and coordinating the transition of Library Collections between campuses, aiming to minimise service disruptions and meet updated space requirements. Gather data to aid in reporting on project progress, contributing to clear communication with the project team and stakeholders. Assist in developing relocation plans and organising and identifying Library collections in preparation for each move. Contribute to the development and implementation of communication plans to inform Library users about collection changes, explaining the rationale for deselection, transition timelines and potential impacts. Building and maintaining strong relationships across teams, sharing updates and ensuring clear communication with colleagues to ensure project deliverables are met. The successful candidate will have: A diploma in Library Science or a related field or demonstrated experience delivering library and information services. Proven ability to take ownership of tasks and drive outcomes by demonstrating initiative, prioritising effectively and maintaining a results-focused approach that supports both job and university success. Adaptability to changing environments with a proactive mindset, embracing innovation and implementing creative solutions to enhance processes and services. Excellent communication skills, with the ability to organise and present information clearly and effectively to diverse audiences using the most appropriate formats and delivery methods. Strong teamwork and collaboration skills, with the ability to build positive working relationships, engage in respectful discussions and contribute to shared goals in a cooperative and professional manner. Specific Requirement - Ability to undertake tasks which require frequent physical movement (e.g. packing, lifting and transfer of Library collections).
