In this role, you'll:
Step into a dynamic and hands-on role where your mechanical, electrical, and electronic trade skills will help power the future of Sydney's rail network. You'll be an essential part of the team that builds, maintains and supports critical rail equipment and infrastructure.
You'll apply your trade skills and technical knowledge to manufacture, assemble, and finish a variety of mechanical components to precise standards. Your work will contribute to key projects that are critical to Sydney's transport network, ensuring they're delivered safely, on time, and within budget.
You'll also collaborate with a skilled team in a fast-paced production environment, while also having the autonomy to work independently when needed. You'll be responsible for operating tools and equipment safely and efficiently, always maintaining the highest safety standards.

About you
You're a motivated tradesperson with a strong sense of pride in your work and a commitment to quality. You thrive in fast-paced environments where no two days are the same, and you're not afraid to be hands-on.
You hold a relevant trade certificate in surface preparation and painting, mechanical, or a related engineering discipline, along with a minimum of two years' experience in a manufacturing or production environment, with demonstrated expertise in surface preparation, painting, and product assembly . You're competent in the MEM training package and have a solid understanding of safety and operational standards.
With hands-on experience in manual painting and surface finishing techniques, you bring valuable practical skills to the table. You work well in a team but are just as capable when working independently. Most importantly, you're eager to learn, grow, and contribute to a workplace culture that values innovation, safety, and meaningful results.
