About the Role: We are seeking two Project Surveyors to join our Brisbane Surveying Team. One of these positions will be FIFO to Roma, supporting our current projects in the region. We're looking for motivated individuals with a strong civil construction focus who are ready to contribute to a high-performing team and deliver quality outcomes on our projects. The ideal candidates will meet the following criteria:
Key Responsibilities:
Survey Setup & Operation - Set out, operate, and maintain survey instruments such as total stations, GPS, levels, and laser scanners.
Machine Guidance Systems - Apply a basic understanding and use of machine guidance systems (Trimble, Topcon, and Leica). Shamrock Civil utilizes Trimble, Topcon, and Leica survey equipment and guidance systems.
Site Set-Out - Accurately mark out reference points, alignments, levels, and grades for construction works in line with project specifications.
Data Collection & Recording - Capture field measurements, as-built data, and site conditions with precision and maintain accurate survey records.
Drone Operations - Conduct surveys and collect site data using DJI drones to support project planning and monitoring.
Quality Assurance - Verify measurements and tolerances to ensure works are carried out within specified limits and standards.
Support to Engineers & Supervisors - Provide survey information and reports to project engineers, foremen, and supervisors for construction planning and progress monitoring.
Instrument Care & Calibration - Ensure survey equipment is properly maintained, calibrated, and stored securely.
Safety & Compliance - Work in line with workplace health and safety procedures, environmental standards, and project-specific compliance requirements.
Team Collaboration - Assist Surveyors and Engineers with daily tasks, coordinate with construction crews, and support efficient project delivery.
Problem Solving - Identify discrepancies between design drawings and site conditions, and escalate issues to the Surveyor/Engineer.
Qualifications and Experience:
Ideally have 1-5 years experience in Civil Projects (Earthworks, Subdivisions etc);
Ideal but not mandatory, have successfully completed a qualification in Surveying or studying towards obtaining a qualification in Surveying;
General safety induction card;
A Current Driver's Licence;
An interest and desire to learn new things;
A capability to learn new Technology as part of solutions focused team;
Strong communication skills (written and oral);
Proficient in MS Word, Excel, and Project; and
Demonstrated knowledge of project coordination and contract management.
