What You'll Be DoingAs the Nursing Unit Manager, you'll lead the Day Procedure Unit and Preadmission Clinics, ensuring high-quality care and efficient surgical admissions. You'll manage staff, resources, and clinical operations to deliver safe, evidence-based care.
Oversee daily operations of the Day Procedure Unit and Preadmission Clinics
Lead and support nursing and administrative teams across both hospitals
Ensure timely, patient-centred surgical admissions and discharge planning
Develop and implement local procedures aligned with clinical standards
Foster a culture of continuous improvement and professional growth

Essential Criteria:
Registration: Current registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia as a Registered Nurse (Division 1)
Selection Criteria:
Post registration management and/or speciality qualification and/or relevant acute clinical management experience deemed appropriate by the organisation.
Extensive recent clinical experience, experience in a leadership roles and knowledge of current nursing and perioperative issues.
Proven ability to create and maintain a positive workplace culture and articulate and achieve a vision for perioperative nursing services.
Demonstrated ability to lead, manage and support a clinical team including experience in coordinating day procedure/ peri-operative activity
Demonstrated excellence in written and verbal communication skills and Computer literacy/ experience using roster management systems, electronic medical records etc
Demonstrated commitment in initiating, developing, and implementing quality and work improvement activities that enhance the delivery of perioperative services
Demonstrates experience with management of people, staff, issues, and performance concerns
