About the role

Manningham MCH service provides a high-quality program supporting the diverse population of Manningham. Our Maternal and Child Health nurses are passionate about the work they do with families, creating a safe, respectful and inclusive environment.

We are looking for a positive and motivated Maternal and Child Health nurse to join our team. The primary role is to provide a flexible, universal and family focused Maternal and Child Health service, maximising the health and development potential for all children from birth to 6 years old, using a holistic and family centred approach.

The Universal MCH service aims to optimise maternal and family wellbeing with a strong focus on supporting mental health and healthy relationships We focus on prevention and detection of physical, developmental, emotional, and social factors affecting young children. Our service promotes health and development as well as referring into early intervention when required.

Manningham is a multicultural and diverse community and our MCH nurses have a respectful and inclusive approach towards clients and colleagues.

The service operates out of 4 multi-nurse centres and deliver a high-quality program supporting the diverse population of Manningham. We offer flexibility for parents through some evening sessions. Some availability to work on a rotating evening roster is a requirement of this role.

Skills and experience

  • Current registration as both a registered nurse and midwife on the AHPRA register, with Post graduate Diploma/Masters Child and Family Health Nursing.
  • An empathetic and holistic approach to practice family partnerships.
  • A demonstrated commitment to participate in continuous improvement, education, professional development, to increase knowledge and skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Knowledge and understanding of family partnerships, child development and behaviour.
  • Driver's licence valid in Victoria.
