Our graduate program is a 2-year rotational Management Development Program (MDP) designed to provide hands-on experience and training in various aspects of management, including leadership, operations, and strategy. Through on-the-job learning across our main operations, you will have the opportunity to work alongside some of the most experienced and talented professionals in the construction industry.
The program offers graduates practical exposure to different parts of our business, as well as the chance to experience living and working in various metropolitan and rural locations across Australia. Over the course of the 2 years, you will be working in a concrete plant, operating machinery on a quarry and helping our senior management team with budgets, plus a whole lot more. You will be in corporate wear one day and steel caps and a hard hat the next.
At Heidelberg Materials Australia, we have a genuine commitment to our people, and a strong culture of 'growing our own'. 80% of our senior managers started on our MDP- including our CEO. Finish our program and you'll be in high demand, securing a spot in our company, often in a management role.
To be eligible, applicants should be completing this year, or have completed within the last 2 years, a minimum of a bachelor's degree in a related field and a strong desire to pursue a career in management.

Application Process
Online application: Submit your application online! You should include a resume and answer the online application questions in place of a cover letter.
Video interview: Shortlisted candidates invited to take part in a one way video interview so we can learn more about you and what attracted you to our MDP.
Psychometric Assessments: Shortlisted candidates will be invited to complete online psychometric assessments consisting of a cognitive ability test and personality questionnaire.
Assessment Centre: Selected candidates will be invited to an assessment centre at one of our offices, which will last for 2-3 hours. This will allow you to find out more about Heidelberg Materials Australia and our Management Development Program, meet some of our leaders and former MDP graduates and complete some individual and group assessments. You will also have a one-on-one interview with the MDP Coordinator or another manager. This will be held at our Skygate office on 20th August 2025.
Pre-employment Medical & Offer: Shorted listed candidates to complete a pre-employment medical & subsequent offer to join our MDP.
