About the role
An exciting opportunity exists for an enthusiastic experienced Scientist to join our laboratory on a permanent full-time or part-time (minimum 22.5 hours per week) basis.
The role will include Microbiology plate reading, blood film morphology, transfusion and biochemistry.
The position will require you to work effectively and efficiently as part of a team.
Rostered hours will vary to cover the operational hours of a 24-hour laboratory. Mandatory weekend roster currently one in four.
Ideal candidate

Appropriate essential qualifications - Degree in Medical Science or recognised equivalent, and 1-2 years' experience in microbiology plate reading
Haematology/blood bank experience would be highly desirable, but not essential
Eligibility for professional membership of the Australian Institute of Medical Scientists
Experience in a diagnostic laboratory with Australian industry experience
Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills
The ability to work in a team environment without direct supervision
An understanding of quality control techniques
Proficiency, motivation and a high degree of organisation, with great attention to detail
General computer skills would also be an advantage
