The Housing Response Centre (HRC) is a 24/7 operation of approx. 550 staff. The centre delivers NSW clients access to responsive maintenance services and social housing services, including Link2home crisis accommodation, Social Housing applications and Rentstart Bond Loan.

Your role

As an Assistant Project Officer, you will be part of a service team supporting the Housing Response Centre in delivering quality service to its clients and staff. You will support the design and implementation of a range of projects, in line with the directorate's responsibilities, which improve HRC service delivery or operations and contribute to better outcomes for individuals, families, groups and communities.

What you'll do

The Assistant Project Officer will be expected to:

  • Provide information and answer questions efficiently on NSW Housing policy and processes from internal and external stakeholders.
  • Guide staff to locate and utilise relevant resources to support decision-making and empowerment.
  • Contribute to the preparation of correspondence, communication and resource material.
  • Communicate with clients and stakeholders to coordinate on shared deliverables and outcomes.
  • Conduct research or seek guidance in order to better inform DCJ Housing policy and processes.
  • Assist the service team with completing tasks and implementing project plans as required to ensure agreed outcomes are achieved.
  • Work with the Service Managers and Project Officers to identify and implement service improvements.
  • Assist with escalations and queue monitoring as needed.

What we're looking for

  • Ability to meet tight deadlines in an environment characterized by conflicting priorities and multiple stakeholders.
  • Experience maintaining project related reports and registers to ensure accountability and integrity of data.
  • Communicate effectively and demonstrate a thorough knowledge of the services.
  • Ability to work well autonomously and as part of a team.
  • Ability to do rostered shifts in a 24/7 Contact Centre.
