The Opportunity
We're looking for a detail-oriented Assistant Accountant to join our Finance team on a 12-month fixed-term contract, with an immediate start available.
This is a fantastic opportunity to gain exposure in a fast-paced commercial environment and build on your accounting foundations as part of a national, high-performing finance team based at our Preston office.
Key responsibilities include:
Preparation of month-end journals and general ledger entries
Balance sheet and bank reconciliations
Support with budgeting, forecasting, and reporting
Assistance with internal and external audit processes
Process improvement and collaboration across finance functions
About You
Degree qualified in Accounting or Finance
1-3 years' experience in a similar accounting role (retail or services sector ideal)
Working towards CAANZ or CPA (or planning to commence soon)
Must be enrolled in CAANZ or CPA professional qualification
Confident with Excel and financial systems
Experience with any ERP financial system required
Excellent attention to detail and time management skills
Strong communication and a collaborative mindset
Australian work rights required
