Key ResponsibilitiesManage day-to-day bookkeeping, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and bank reconciliations.
Prepare and submit Business Activity Statements (BAS) in line with ATO requirements.
Administer superannuation contributions and ensure timely compliance with regulations.
Produce weekly profit and loss reports to provide the Director with up-to-date business performance insights.
Prepare monthly and quarterly financial reports, including cashflow forecasts.
Liaise with external accountants, auditors, and the ATO when required.
Monitor expenses, payroll, and job costings to support business efficiency.
Maintain accurate financial records and ensure they are audit-ready.
Contribute to the development of systems and processes to improve financial reporting and efficiency.
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline.
Previous experience in bookkeeping, accounting, or financial management (experience in small business preferred).
Strong knowledge of Xero (or similar accounting software).
Solid understanding of BAS, GST, PAYG, and superannuation compliance.
Strong attention to detail and excellent organisational skills.
Ability to prepare accurate financial reports and communicate results clearly to management.
Proactive, reliable, and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
