As a Planning Research Officer you will: Contribute to the teams research and analysis in interpreting land use planning policy issues in relation to growth and prosperity in partnership with State agencies and local governments. Support the team on the operational delivery of growth monitoring research and analysis, and the management of data that supports regional planning and monitoring. Assist with developing and publishing easy to understand reports and insights on growth, land supply, housing, development potential and trends, and related topics for Queensland in a variety of formats (i.e. reports, tables, graphs and maps). Work with the team to manage core datasets on land, housing, demographic, employment, infrastructure, and related data to support the planning, implementation, and monitoring activities of Regional and Spatial Planning. Work with the team to implement sound data governance policies to ensure data is secure, accurate, available and usable. Pursue analytical rigour to comprehend and interpret land, housing, infrastructure, population, and employment information to support land use and infrastructure planning at both regional and local levels. Work with the team to develop your skills in applying GIS and Extract Transform Load (ETL) software. The Department uses Esri ArcGIS and Safe Softwares FME for ETL data processing. Work with a multi-disciplinary (planning, data analytics, spatial, land economics etc) team that is flexible to change and manages multi-disciplinary projects and actively contribute to fostering a positive project team environment and culture.
