In this role, you'll:

Assist the Truck Driver (Tow Truck) to respond to unplanned incidents at designated locations with the aim of returning the road to normal operating conditions with the utmost urgency.

The Tow Truck Attendant is also responsible for:

  • Providing immediate response on our major roads to unplanned incidents and motorists while working in unison with the Tow Truck Driver and emergency services in swiftly returning our roads to normal operating conditions.
  • Conducting traffic control, assist in lane changes, and remove debris while ensuring work is completed with a strong focus on safety and operational integrity is upheld.
  • Performing safety checks and a broad range of manual tasks such as refuelling vehicles, using power tools and (heavy) tow recovery.
  • Solving routine problems that arise, referring to standard guidelines and manuals, and collaborate with supervisors and managers to resolve complex problems to ensure risks are minimised and work goals are achieved.

There are 5 x ongoing full-time positions available in Sydney. Please note that these roles will be relocated to Luddenham in the near future.

About you

You are safety conscious, self-motivated with strong work ethic and integrity, and enjoy working in a fast-paced environment where you can showcase your initiative while working autonomously.

You enjoy working in a rostered shift environment and want to be part of an organisation focused on making positive changes in the community and the everyday lives of our customers.

You currently possess a current unrestricted NSW motor vehicle driver's licence and hold Traffic Controller Cards for ‘Implement Traffic Control Plan' and ‘Prepare Work Zone'.

You hold a current First Aid Certificate and are willing to undertake any legislated or internal licensing, training or ticketing requirements as directed.

You must be available and willing to work 24 hour working roster including shift work, late nights, early mornings, weekends and public holidays. Extended hours may also be necessary at short notice.
