ABOUT THE ROLE:
As a Support Worker, you will be providing person-centered support to individuals in their home and community settings. The positions available are working in SIL homes and applicants will be required to complete sleepovers as a part of the rosters.
In this role you'll assist with daily living activities, personal care, medication management, and promote social engagement, all while respecting the dignity, privacy, and independence of the individuals you support.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist individuals with daily tasks, including personal care, meal preparation and housekeeping.
- Support clients with mobility and transfers where necessary.
- Encourage and assist clients with social activities and community engagement.
- Administer medications as prescribed and keep accurate records.
- Monitor and report any changes in the individual's health or well-being.
- Provide emotional and social support to help improve the overall quality of life for clients.
ABOUT YOU:
- Compassionate, patient and dedicated to providing the best support to others
- Previous experience in support work is desirable
- A willingness to learn and complete any relevant training
- Strong communication skills and ability to build positive relationships with clients and their families
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- A valid driver's license
- NDIS Worker Check
- Current First Aid Certificate
- WWCC or ability to obtain
