Grow Your Career in Landscapes That Matter

Join us in shaping a resilient future --working hand-in-hand with regional communities to nurture healthy and resilient landscapes. Whether you're on the ground, behind the scenes, or leading the way, your role helps us create a healthier, more sustainable region.

About the position:

Are you passionate about helping regional communities prepare for the challenges of future droughts and dry times? Do you thrive in collaborative roles that bring together organisations, governments and community groups to deliver meaningful outcomes? If so, we'd love to hear from you.

The Rural Resilience Coordinator will play a key role in implementing the Murraylands Riverland Plan (MR Plan), an initiative designed to strengthen drought resilience across the Murraylands and Riverland region.

Working closely with a consortium of partners --including the Murraylands and Riverland Landscape Board, RDA Murraylands and Riverland, and the Murraylands and Riverland Local Government Association --you will coordinate activities, support effective investment of funds, and build strong networks across the region to promote outcomes and identify future opportunities.

While employed by the Murraylands and Riverland Landscape Board, the successful candidate will report to the project working group of the MR Plan consortium.

Key responsibilities

  • Identify and prioritise project and investment opportunities in collaboration with the consortium.

  • Support the consortium to invest funds through the development of briefs, procurement services, and project and contract management.

  • Build partnerships with government, industry, and community organisations to strengthen drought resilience.

  • Identify opportunities to leverage additional funding and support for regional projects.

  • Maintain and update the MR Plan in line with CSIRO recommendations.

  • Monitor and analyse project outcomes to reduce duplication and demonstrate benefits.

  • Contribute to a safe and supportive workplace.

Who you are & what you'll do:

About you

You are an experienced project coordinator with strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills. You are confident managing procurement and contract processes, and you can bring together diverse partners to deliver shared outcomes. You are proactive, organised, and passionate about supporting regional communities.

Skills and experience

  • Demonstrated experience coordinating projects or programs, including planning, delivery, review and improvement.

  • Procurement, project and contract management experience.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, adaptable to diverse audiences.

  • Proven ability to collaborate and build productive relationships.

  • Capacity to work under pressure, exercising judgement and initiative.

  • Research and analysis skills, with experience reporting to funding partners.

  • Understanding of the economic, social and agricultural impacts of drought, ideally in the Murraylands and Riverland region.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.

Key relationships

You will work closely with consortium members, landscape board employees, advisory groups, local government, farming systems groups, health and economic development organisations, community groups, and funding partners across state and federal government.

What we offer:

  • Meaningful work that aligns with your career goals --whether you're looking to lead, grow, specialise, or take a new direction.

  • Tailored development opportunities and flexible working arrangements that support your individual circumstances, where operationally possible.

  • Comprehensive wellbeing support, including access to Employee Assistance Programs and health and wellbeing initiatives.

  • Attractive and competitive salary with annual increases.

  • Salary packaging options to help you maximise your take-home pay.

  • Generous leave entitlements to support work-life balance and personal wellbeing.

What you'll need:

  • Tertiary qualifications in agriculture, business, economics or a related discipline (desirable).

  • Eligibility for this position requires a valid Australian working visa.

  • Appointment will be subject to a satisfactory Criminal History Check.

  • Current First Aid Certificate (desirable).
