At ENV Solutions, we do things a little differently. We're a values driven environmental consultancy working across contaminated land, water treatment, resource recovery, and environmental compliance projects. As part of our small laboratory team, we're looking for a Laboratory Analyst to join us in Ballina.
This newly created role is a fantastic opportunity to build a strong foundation in laboratory practice or expand your exisiting set of skills. You'll play an important part in delivering high-quality testing services while contributing to the growth of our NATA-accredited facility. Working alongside experienced professionals, you'll gain hands-on exposure to a variety of analytical techniques in a supportive environment that values learning and collaboration.
We're offering this as a full-time equivalent role, though we're happy to explore flexible arrangements with the right person. Daily attendance is preferred, with shorter days an option.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare and analyse samples in accordance with standard operating procedures.
Conduct asbestos identification and fibre counting.
Operate and maintain laboratory equipment, including microscopes.
Record and report results accurately, ensuring compliance with NATA/ISO17025 standards.
Work safely in a laboratory environment, following WHS and other laboratory procedures.
Support laboratory quality systems and contribute to continuous improvement.
Assist with stock management of chemicals, reagents, and consumables.
Record, manage, and report data using Microsoft Suite applications, especially Excel and SharePoint.
Collaborate effectively with colleagues and communicate clearly.
About You
You're detail-oriented, safety-conscious and thrive in a team environment. You enjoy problem-solving and contributing to the quality and reliability of laboratory outcomes.
You'll also bring:
Previous laboratory experience, preferably in a NATA-accredited lab.
Asbestos and fibre analysis experience (highly regarded).
Microscopy experience (highly regarded).
Understanding of NATA/ISO17025 quality systems.
Laboratory qualifications (Certificate III/IV advantageous).
Proficiency with Microsoft Suite (especially Excel and SharePoint).
Strong attention to detail, time management, and problem-solving skills.
Effective communicator and team player.
Must have unrestricted work rights in Australia
