About You
We are seeking an experienced Head Guide with exceptional people management skills to join our team. As the Head Guide, your mission is to inspire guests with the natural beauty and heritage of the Flinders Ranges, leaving them with a profound connection to our environment. You are a hands-on leader who is passionate about supporting a team of Guides and Lodge Attendants in delivering extraordinary experiences that foster a deeper appreciation of our natural environment.
You are a gifted storyteller, sharing the rich history of the land, and you have a deep love for the outdoors, especially the Australian outback. If you're looking for a unique and special experience beyond the ordinary 9-to-5, this role is perfect for you.
Key Responsibilities
Lead, support, and mentor a team of Guides and Lodge Attendants to deliver world-class guest experiences.
Oversee all guided activities, ensuring adherence to safety procedures and the highest service standards.
Inspire guests with engaging presentations and storytelling about the Flinders Ranges' natural history and heritage.
Manage day-to-day guide operations, including vehicle, safari, and equipment readiness.
Assist with the onboarding and training of new team members.
Support and role model conservation initiatives, weaving sustainability into every aspect of guiding and guest interaction.
Oversee camp operations as required to ensure seamless guest experiences.
Provide leadership in guest service, assisting with meal service, hosting, passenger transfers, and lodge operations where needed.
Collect guest feedback and identify areas for continuous improvement.
Maintain clear communication across the lodge and operations teams to ensure smooth delivery of all experiences.
Qualifications & Experience
LR Driver's Licence
SA Driver Accreditation
First Aid and CPR
Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA)
Proven guiding experience with demonstrated leadership and team management skills
Strong storytelling ability and in-depth knowledge of Australia's natural environment, particularly the outback
Ability to deliver exceptional customer service in a luxury environment
Flexible and hands-on approach, with willingness to assist in lodge operations
