The Victorian Infrastructure Delivery Authority (VIDA) is responsible for delivering the largest transport, health and community safety infrastructure program in Victorian history. About the role\n
Reporting to the Chief Procurement Officer, the Director, Category Management and Sourcing leads the Category and Advisory team within VIDA Services' Goods and Services Procurement Division. The role sets strategic direction for procurement sourcing across the enterprise, ensuring procurement strategies, operating models and service delivery support project delivery, align with organisational priorities, value for money objectives and governance obligations. The Director provides authoritative advice on complex sourcing, commercial and category management matters to the CPO, Procurement Leadership Team and senior executives within VIDA Services and the project offices, and leads high-value, high-risk negotiations. This role also drives continuous improvement and transformation within the procurement function, including systems implementation, process redesign and capability uplift. Overseeing workflow prioritisation and advisory services, the Director is accountable for consistent, high-quality procurement outcomes for VIDA's project offices.
About you\n
You are a senior procurement leader with extensive experience in category management and sourcing within large, complex, multi-faceted organisations, ideally in a public sector or similar environment, with experience supporting major project delivery. Your ability to set strategic direction, lead high-performing teams, work constructively with peers and deliver measurable value for money outcomes is well established, as is your capacity to deliver results whilst holding yourself and others accountable. You are a credible and trusted adviser to executive stakeholders, with strong negotiation and influencing skills and a demonstrated ability to navigate complex, competing priorities. You are a creative thinker and problem solver, and experience leading procurement transformation (including service model redesign, systems implementation and capability development) will be central to your success in this role alongside a personal alignment with VIDA’s purpose and values. A tertiary qualification in procurement, finance or related disciplines is highly desirable.
