International Chinese School is a growing K-6 bilingual Anglican school located in St Leonards on the Lower North Shore of Sydney. In 2025, 115 students enrolled at the school, which was established by St Paul's Anglican Church, Chatswood, to serve the needs of the surrounding community.
The school offers a bilingual immersion program, and 50% of the teaching week is delivered in Mandarin.
The School seeks to appoint a Director of Teaching and learning (K-6), who will focus on overseeing the implementation of NESA KLA syllabus documents in the school's teaching programs.
It is not essential for candidates to speak Mandarin.
For 2025, the role includes a 0.6FTE teaching load, which will be immediately commenced or by negotiation.
Selection Criteria
Essential
A personal commitment to Jesus Christ and regular attendance of a Christian Church
Qualified, NESA accredited and experienced K-6 teacher
Leadership experience in a K-6 school setting
Extensive knowledge of NESA K-6 syllabus requirements and application to classroom teaching
Demonstrated ability to engage students through differentiated quality teaching andlearning programs incorporating the use of technology
Superior people skills with the ability to work as a member of a team to nurture strongpartnerships with staff, students, and parents
Highly organised with advanced time management skills
Current Working with Children Check Clearance
Desired
Background in Christian school education
Postgraduate qualifications in the field of Education
