About Us

Court Services Victoria provides corporate services and facilities to support the performance of the judicial, quasi-judicial and administrative functions of Victoria's courts and tribunal, Judicial College and Judicial Commission. 

Collectively, Victoria's Supreme, County, Magistrates', Children's, and Coroners courts, the Victorian Civil and Administrative Tribunal (VCAT), the Judicial College of Victoria, the Judicial Commission of Victoria, and Court Services Victoria (CSV) are referred to as the ‘Courts Group'.

The Supreme Court of Victoria is the highest court in Victoria and comprises the Court of Appeal and the Trial Division. The Court deals with major criminal and civil matters, plus appeals against decisions of lower courts.

Funds in Court (FIC) supports the Senior Master, who holds funds, investments, and assets, principally for people with a disability. FIC works to ensure the safe and effective investment of clients' funds at low cost, and to use funds in a manner that responds to clients' diverse needs and aspirations. FIC is a self-funded, not-for-profit division of the Court that also manages funds paid into Court.

About the Role

The Administrative Support Officer is a member of the Client Services Team and is accountable for providing quality customer service, project and operational support for the effective administration of funds paid into Court for persons under a legal disability. This role coordinates administrative functions across the Client Services section of FIC. The position reports to the Director Client Services via the Team Leader.

Key accountabilities include:

  • Coordinating administrative functions across Client Services for persons under disability, as delegated by the Team Leader and/or Director Client Services.
  • Providing operational support to Client Services Officers with the preparation of correspondence and other documentation, such as Court Orders and Memoranda.
  • Preparing and presenting quality reports and statistics; maintaining proper documentation and creating and maintain databases or reporting systems.
  • Ensuring relevant spreadsheets, records, data and information are appropriately maintained and updated.
  • Undertaking and coordinating projects with minimal supervision.
  • Maintaining a working knowledge of the procedural and practical requirements of the Senior Master (who is an Associate Judge), as they impact upon the administration of funds in Court for persons under disability.
  • Effectively dealing with a range of clients who may display challenging behaviours, such as persons with an acquired brain injury, or those presenting with very sensitive issues such as young persons who have been victims of crime.

About You

  • Ability to deliver high-quality, professional, customer focussed, administrative services.
  • Ability to maintain a high-level of accuracy and confidentiality.
  • Strong numeracy skills.
  • Experience using administrative systems, in particular, Microsoft Office suite, preferred.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience in the trustee industry would be highly regarded.
