Are you passionate about education and first aid? Do you have a knack for inspiring and engaging students? Swinburne University is looking for a dedicated and innovative First Aid Teacher and Coordinator to join our Vocational Education and Training (VET) team. As a First Aid Teacher and Coordinator, you will play a crucial role in shaping the future of our students. You will be responsible for developing, delivering, and assessing high-quality education and training programs in first aid. Your role will involve:

• Teaching & Assessment: Implementing industry best practices and innovative learning methodologies to ensure student engagement and achievement of learning outcomes.
• Coordination: Managing first aid facilitators, ensuring resources and equipment are available, and maintaining compliance with educational standards.
• Student Support: Providing educational advice, implementing individual learning plans, and referring students to appropriate support services.
• Continuous Improvement: Participating in professional development activities and contributing to program evaluation and improvement.

About You To be suitable for this role you will need to have experience in the below key accountabilities:

• Demonstrated ability to implement high quality innovative teaching and learning programs in a variety of learning modes which respond to a diverse range of student and client needs.
• Demonstrated ability to foster and promote an inclusive, customised and safe learning environment and provide support and advice to a diverse range of students and clients. Demonstrated ability to participate effectively in continuous improvement, audit processes and the maintenance of high-quality training and assessment materials.
• Demonstrated awareness and understanding of Vocational Education and Training policies and frameworks.

Qualifications

• First aid qualifications HLTAID009, HLTAID010, HLTAID011, HTLAID012, HLTAID014

• Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40122)

OR

• Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40116)

OR

• Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40110) including the following units:

• TAELLN411 Address adult language, literacy and numeracy skills or its successor, OR

• TAELLN401A Address adult language, literacy and numeracy skills

AND

• TAEASS502 Design and develop assessment tools or its successor, OR

• TAEASS502A Design and develop assessment tools OR

• TAEASS502B Design and develop assessment tools

OR

• Diploma or higher level qualification in adult education

• AQF5 level (or above) qualification in Education (Preferable)
