About the role

Mater Private Hospital Redlands are seeking Theatre Orderlies to join our Perioperative team. The successful applicant will secure Permanent Part-Time employment from 24-32 hours as desired. This position supports our daily operations, successful candidates need to be available for a 24/7 roster.

Salary range: $30.48 - $33.05 per hour plus 11.5% superannuation and access to not-for-profit salary packaging up to $15,900 + access to many staff benefits!

What youll be doing

The Theatre Orderly is responsible for assisting with the transportation of patients throughout the hospital pre and post-surgery. Assisting nurses and doctors with manual handling of patients, setting up and cleaning of medical equipment and medical gases. All transport will be onsite across both Townsville Mater Hospitals

• Attending regular staff meetings and trainings
• Patient transfers and delivering excellent customer service and patient care
• Perform required tasks under the direction of medical and nursing staff
• Equipment auditing
• Clean contaminated equipment and other used items as required
• Assist with basic patient care as requested under supervision of nursing staff

About you

To be successful in this role you will possess:

• A high level of understanding of infection control procedures and processes
• Experience working as an Orderly within a hospital setting (desirable not essential)
• Effective communication and ability to understand instructions
• Effective organisational skills and time management
• Ability to work without supervision and within a team environment.
• Ability to demonstrates correct techniques of patient lifting, moving and transportation
• Physically fit and enjoy a fast-paced working environment
