Auxiliary Plant Attendant Copper Smelter, Mines Power Station Operations Mount Isa, Queensland, Australia Ref. No. 103174 Mount Isa Mines are currently advertising for vacancies that exist within the Mines Power Station for an Auxiliary Plant Attendant (Operator Maintainer). Reporting to the Shift Supervisor, this challenging role will require you to work on a variety of tasks, with an opportunity to develop your technical skills and industry knowledge. This position is residentially based in Mount Isa and will require you to work a 42-hour week, continuous shift roster (7D7O7N7O). Occasionally you may be required to be flexible in terms of work times and rosters.

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

• Operating and maintaining power generation, oxygen plant and high pressure & low pressure compressed air assets.
• Working collaboratively with tradespeople and engineers in a multidisciplinary environment.
• Ensuring set targets are met and the operation runs efficiently.

The successful candidate will possess:

• A trade qualification - Electrical (preferred) or Mechanical trade qualifications is not mandatory but will be highly regarded
• Experience in boiler and turbine generation is desirable. We will provide training if you do not hold!
• A demonstrated commitment to safety
• A self-motivated positive attitude and enjoy working in small yet highly productive teams
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Must have the ability to pass a respirator fit test.
