• Permanent part-time position 20 hours per week, 4 hours per day

Help us deliver like never before As our Van Driver in Thuringowa, youll be operating and delivering in our vans as the face of our trusted business, at the heart of your community and connecting Australians every single day. You might not be working from home, but youll be working autonomously out on-the-road, interacting with others and being a team player and it doesnt get better than that! Youll be:

• Required to safely perform and operate a van to perform duties such as picking up mail from Street Posting Boxes, Corporate Offices, Licensed Post Offices and Delivery Centres
• Required to pick up mail and parcel items from our customers
• Unload mail articles from vans and manually sorting them into small or large letters and parcels including express posts
• Completing your own daily vehicle safety check
• Paired up with our experienced senior drivers, who are committed to engage and take part in your professional development

About you:

• You hold a full or probationary QLD drivers licence with a good driving history
• On employment, youll need to successfully pass our mandatory vehicle training and assessment
• You are flexible with finishing times and working additional hours if required
• You have a good memory, great hand/eye coordination, and excellent attention to detail for when sorting mail
• You enjoy physical work indoors and outdoors and can lift up to 16kgs of Mail and Parcels regularly
• You will need to meet our safe working vehicle load limit of weighing under 130kgs fully clothed (including helmet)

Training and Support

At Australia Post, our training and induction programs offer support to ensure we set you up for success. You will attend an induction in your first week with our Learning and Development Team followed by a site-specific induction at your respective facility and additional online learning modules. As a new employee, you will receive one-on-one coaching, followed by regular check-ins with your Manager and Trainer to track progress, provide feedback, and discuss any support needed. We assess development at the end of each month during your probationary period, with adjustments or additional training as required. The program includes site-specific inductions and hands-on training, building employees up to full delivery capacity within six weeks. Our approach is flexible, with the option to swap coaches for fresh perspectives, ensuring long-term success and continuous growth.
