Claims Specialist, Property & Construction Sydney, NSW / Melbourne, Victoria As part of the AXA XL Australia branch, the key Claims function mission is to proactively manage claims from notification to settlement, providing high quality customer service and reaching an effective outcome, in the most cost effective and profitable way. Our experienced Claims professionals use their specialized expertise to handle even the most complex claims. As a Claims Specialist, you will play a critical role in AXA XLs claims for the Property team, handling a wide variety of Property and Construction claims. Expect to work closely with your manager and fellow Claims colleagues to drive files to resolution and to interact and collaborate with Underwriting and Operations teams. Together, you will be tasked with achieving the best possible outcomes for AXA XL and its clients by resolving and settling claims proactively. This is a regulated role under the Central Bank of Irelands Fitness and Probity regime. DISCOVER your opportunity What will your essential responsibilities include?- Proactively manage a portfolio of Property Claims in accordance with AXA XLs Claims-handling Principles.
- Using strong technical and interpersonal skills, handle the complex and challenging claims.
- External collaboration, develop and maintain productive working relationships with insureds, loss adjusters, brokers, claim handlers, underwriters, and legal counsel. Provide guidance and seek input from others as needed to achieve the best result possible.
- Internal collaboration with Claims Manager and Practice Leaders on large and complex losses to achieve optimum outcomes for the client and AXA XL.
- Thoughtful and proactive claims expense management.
- Participant in Quality Review Process.
- Work with underwriters in policy review and drafting, participate in external marketing and business development activities as well as sharing ‘lessons learned and identified trends to improve risk assessment and underwriting process.
- Produce internal reporting in support of best practice and reserving guidelines.
- Effectively manage, track and report on portfolio performance.
- Extensive property claims or similar experience essential e.g. first party, crisis management, property claims adjuster and loss adjusting.
A strong understanding of insurance principles, policies, and regulations
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication allowing effective communication with both internal and external stakeholders.
