Where youll be working Join the Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS) Manning, based at Taree Community Health Centre (64 Pulteney Street). Youll be part of a specialist mental health service dedicated to supporting young people (0-17 years) and their families across the Manning region. Travel within the region may be required during work hours, ensuring care is accessible where its needed most.

About the role As a Social Worker within CAMHS Manning, youll provide high-quality assessment, treatment, and case coordination for children, young people, and their families/caregivers experiencing complex and severe mental health challenges. You will:

  • Work within a multi-disciplinary team model to provide specialist person centred clinical intervention to children/young people and their families/carers, to ensure delivery of innovative and developmentally appropriate clinical practice and therapeutic interventions.
  • Participate in the delivery of trauma informed care and its application in working with children/young people with mental health concerns and their families /carers.
  • Exercise independent professional judgement.
  • Ensure the care delivered sits within professional, organisational, legal, and ethical boundaries and reflects evidence based, best practice knowledge and embraces a collaborative, client centred, family and culturally sensitive approach.
  • Identify and act on opportunities for improvement in clinical practice and participate in initiatives to enhance service delivery and consumer outcomes.
  • Work semi-autonomously on tasks related to assessment, formulation & clinical documentation

About you In HNELHD CAMHS, we provide Specialist Child and Adolescent Mental Health and Family Based Assessments. Our model of care supports individual, dyadic and family therapy treatment with specialised clinical support within the team and in professional supervision.As a Social Worker within Child & Adolescent

Mental Health Service you will provide a high-quality assessment, treatment and case coordination service to children, young people, and their families/caregivers. You will provide discipline specific expertise to the multi-disciplinary team discussion and work alongside a supportive team of Aboriginal Mental Health Clinicians, Psychiatry, Occupational Therapy, Psychology, Nursing, Dietetic, and Speech Pathology disciplines.

Requirements

  • Tertiary qualifications in Social Work.
  • Eligibility for membership with the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW).
  • Experience in child and adolescent mental health.
  • Current NSW Working with Children Check and National Police Check.
  • Current drivers licence (as travel within the region may be required).
