About the role
We are looking for enthstic and dedicated Disability Support Workers to join our team at The Coppel & Piekarski Family Disability Respite Centre in Caulfield. This is an exciting career opportunity that involves fostering empowerment and providing person-centred active support for adults and children living with a disability.
Within your new role:
- Establish and maintain a supportive environment for people using a person-centred active support model
- Facilitate and support clients in all aspects of daily living
- Promote opportunities for skill development and community access
- Contribute to the plans and outcomes for clients, programs and activities
- Maintain effective interpersonal communications with clients, colleagues, and family members
- Regularly update client reports and relevant records
- Childrens holiday groups
What you will bring:
- Certificate IV in Disability (essential)
- Full unrestricted Victorian Drivers Licence (essential)
- Experience supporting persons with disability
- Proven understanding of person-centred approach and positive behavior supports
- Availability to work various shifts across a 24/7 roster, including sleepovers
- Well-developed communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work under pressure, work independently and part of a team
- The ability to contribute to the delivery of an outstanding customer experience
- The ability to self-manage and monitor your work schedule
- Commitment to the delivery of timely and punctual work performance
