Classification: ANU Officer 5/6 (Research) Salary package: $83,351 - $97,929 per annum plus 17% superannuation Terms: Part time (up to 28 hours, 0.8 FTE), Fixed term (up to 3 years)

The Research Officer is part of the DHEWS team and reports to Prof Nicolas Cherbuin, at the National Centre for Epidemiology and Population Health. The Research Assistant will work with other staff and students in DHEWS and the NeuroImaging and Brain Lab (NIMBL).

Role Statement:

Under general supervision and guidance, the Research Officer is required to:

  • Conduct complex genomic, epidemiologic, and experimental analyses of large datasets such as the UK Biobank using cloud-based analytic platforms or advanced statistical/computational packages;
  • Assist with the development and implementation of analytic pipelines and their documentations;
  • Prepare and format results for publication and contribute to the drafting of manuscripts;
  • Undertake administrative functions including literature reviews and assist with the preparation of ethics applications, grant writing and their submission;
  • Assist with data collection, entry, cleaning, analysis and maintenance of participant databases;
  • Assist with neuroimaging processing and analysis;
  • Assist with the preparation of surveys and questionnaires on the Qualtrics survey software;
  • Support training of students and staff within DHEWS/NIMBL;
  • Other duties consistent with the classification of the position.
