About our client:

An award winning Supermarket Retailer, our client is seeking an enthusiastic and mechanically minded Transport Mechanic to join their team, located in Dandenong South.

A temp- perm employment opportunity, you will be rostered FT to a 38 hour week with optional overtimeReporting to the Section Leader, you will be responsible for the maintenance and repair within the transport department - trucks, forklifts and refrigeration. Salary and Remuneration $36-$37 per hour (Temp to potential permanent opportunity)

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Reporting to the Transport Manager for any maintenance issues and adhering to OH&S policies and procedures
  • Servicing and repairs of trucks and trailing equipment
  • Coordinating maintenance schedules for the required operations
  • Performing all maintenance to the highest of standards in an efficient and timely manner
  • Ensuring all current and legislative and internal requirements and responsibilities are adhered to
Required skills and attributes:
  • Qualified Diesel Mechanic or Mechanic (Cert III) 
  • HR license or equivalent
  • Refrigeration or temperature controlled warehouse experience 
  • Servicing and diagnostics exposure
  • Experience with Mex Asset Maintenance System or equivalent preferred
  • Must be comfortable / confident working from heights
  • A current Victorian drivers licence
  • Excellent written and verbal communicational skills
Preferred skills:
  • Cert III in Automotive or experience working with Trailers and Trucks 
  • A current Forklift licence is ideal
  • A current Elevated Work Platform Licence
  • Technical Trade Certificate
  • Auto electrical experience
  • Electrical experience
  • Exposure to building maintenance
