Curis Recruitment is proud to support this Aboriginal Medical Service to find a Health Promotions Officer for 3 of their clinics.
What's on Offer:
  • Competitive salary on offer
  • Salary Packaging of up to $30,000 per annum to maximise your take-home pay
  • District Allowance of $2,920 (Single) or $5,840 (Double) per annum
  • Electricity Allowance of $1,400 per annum
  • Annual Airfare valued at $1,285 per annum after 12 months of continuous service
About your Role
As the Health Promotion Officer, you'll play a vital role in supporting Aboriginal clients and families throughout their cancer journey. Working closely with the Cancer Care Team, remote clinics and community partners, you will:
  • Provide culturally appropriate support, advocacy and practical assistance
  • Help clients understand their diagnosis and treatment options
  • Support attendance at appointments and provide emotional and cultural support
  • Work with health professionals to promote culturally safe cancer care
  • Deliver community education on cancer prevention, screening and early detection
  • Build strong relationships with remote Kimberley communities and contribute to service improvements

About You
To be successful, you will:
  • Proven experience in health promotion or related fields
  • Have experience working with Aboriginal people, families and communities
  • Have a strong understanding of Kimberley culture and community networks
  • Be an excellent communicator with strong relationship-building skills
  • Hold a current C Class Driver's Licence and be willing to travel to remote communities
  • Hold, or be willing to obtain, a National Police Clearance
  • Have full working rights in Australia
