Newcastle Private Hospital is seeking Food Services Assistant to join our hospitality team on a casual basis. In this fast paced and varied environment you will take pride in your work, have a friendly and positive work attitude and a commitment to customer satisfaction.
You will assist in effectively serving our patient, doctor, and staff meals with particular attention to patient dietary needs, & assist with function catering at a consistently high standard and within HACCP guidelines.
About usCome and join our expert team of surgeons, specialist doctors, dedicated nurses and allied health professionals at Newcastle Private Hospital. We are a 189 bed, acute, private hospital facility co-located on the John Hunter Campus at Rankin Park. The hospital has 11 theatres including a hybrid theatre and a 15 bed Intensive Care Unit.
We also have a cardiac suite including a cardiac catheter laboratory and a 16 bed Coronary Care Unit. A private maternity suite including 6 birthing suites and a special care baby nursery is available for families in the Newcastle region. Newcastle Private Oncology Centre provides specialty care for individuals and their families/carers undergoing all aspects of cancer treatment and care with both an inpatient unit and day infusion lounge.
As a Food Service Assistant your responsibilities will include:· Assist in daily food preparation and basic meal assembly
· Deliver, serve and collect all patient food requirements and meal trays
· Assist in general cleaning of kitchen equipment and utensils including dish and pot washing as required.
· Act as a valued member of an interdisciplinary team by promoting a professional and positive team culture.
· Provide high standard of customer service
· Operate in line with WHS policy & procedures
· Deliver excellent customer service to staff, clients and patients
· Have demonstrated ongoing commitment to professional development
Essential Criteria:· Authority to Work in Australia
· Working with Children check
· 2 years' experience in a similar role within a Hospital or Aged care environment
· Completed Basic Food Handling Training (or working towards)
· Certificate III in Hospitality (or working towards)
· Knowledge of food safety and hygiene requirements
· Excellent time management skills
· Commitment to service excellence
· Strong communication and customer skills
· Attention to detail
· Work well independently and within a team
· Available for a variety of shifts & on call shifts
