Unidex actively recruit for all areas in the healthcare field specialising in Disability Services, Support Services and Allied Health.

The Role: We are currently looking for experienced Disability Support Workers to partner with a 18-year-old female participant based in Casino, NSW. Our participant has sustained a spinal cord injury which has resulted in the loss of lower limb & some upper limb movement.

This role is on a casual on-going basis and looking to start as soon as possible.

Our participant requires support from Monday to Sunday on the below times (please note: flexibility with shifts is required as shift times may be altered slightly depending on participant's needs).

Shift available: Monday to Sunday

• Dayshift: 0600-1000 and 1000-1500
• Afternoon: 1800-2200
• Inactive Sleepover: 2200-0600

Due the complexity of the participant, successful candidates must have experience with bowel therapy OR be willing to learn these skills (administering enema and digital stimulation), catheter management and hoisting. Training will be provided.

Pay Rates:

• Day - $40.00 per hour
• Afternoon - $44.00 per hour
• Saturday - $56.00 per hour
• Sunday - $72.00 per hour
• In-active overnight shift allowance - $145.49 fixed rate

Key Responsibilities:

• Assistance with bowel therapy (administering enema and digital stimulation)
• Assistance with domestic tasks including cleaning & meal preparation
• Assistance with catheter management (including applying leg bag)
• Assistance with Health & Rehab exercises
• Community access + rehab appointments
• Hoisting (full hoist/sling hoist)
• Assistance with personal care
• Completing skin checks
• Prompting Medication

Skills & Experiences:

• Reliable, proactive and positive attitude
• NDIS Effective Communication Module
• Current National Police Clearance
• NDIS Worker Orientation Module
• Current NDIS Worker Screen check
• First Aid & CPR Certificate
• Australian Driver Licence
• Current WWCC
