About the role: Were currently seeking a passionate and experienced Cook to join our back-of-house team.

Youll play a key role in preparing and delivering the quality meals our guests return for—ranging from EQ Big Breakfasts to Chicken Katsu Burgers, fresh salads, and baked treats. Youll be involved in food prep, plating, and ensuring dishes are made to perfection, while maintaining high standards of hygiene and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

• Inspecting food ingredients and supplies to uphold high standards of quality and freshness.
• Managing the heat settings and operation of ovens, stovetops, grills, and other kitchen equipment used for cooking baked goods and café

meals.

• Assembling and cooking a variety of menu items such as gourmet breakfasts, burgers, salads, pasta, and sweet treats.
• Flavoring dishes appropriately throughout the cooking process to match EQs signature taste profiles.
• Measuring and serving dishes with precise portions, artistically plating meals with sauces, dressings, and decorative elements.
• Placing raw and cooked foods in refrigeration or heating units to maintain safe storage temperatures.
• Adapting meals to accommodate customer dietary needs, including vegetarian, gluten-free, or allergy-conscious requests.
• Contributing to menu planning by forecasting ingredients and supply needs for both regular café service and catering orders.
• Supporting the development of junior kitchen staff and apprentices by offering guidance, supervision, and training.

Requirements:

• Minimum 10 years of proven experience in a similar cook or kitchen role (café/restaurant/hospitality)
• Knowledge of food safety, hygiene, and kitchen operations
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining quality
• Familiarity with dietary variations and safe food handling
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Flexible availability including weekends and public holidays
• Culinary qualifications or trade certificates (preferred but not essential)
