Chef/Cook

The West Coast Wilderness Railway operates heritage tourist trains between Queenstown and Strahan on the West Coast of Tasmania along with two popular café outlets at each of our stations.

We are seeking a Casual Chef/Cook with suitable experience to join our team at Tracks on Point Strahan.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Prepare Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner dishes as per the menu

  • Assist in planning and preparation of specials

  • Ensure the timely delivery of quality meals

  • Maintaining the highest standards of food quality and safety

  • Working closely with other team members to deliver a superior customer experience.

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Proven experience working as a Chef/Cook in a high-volume environment

  • Effective communication with a diverse team 

  • Excellent time management and ability to work under pressure

  • A positive and composed approach to your work

  • Capacity to work a flexible schedule, including days, nights, weekends, and public holidays 

  • The right to work in Australia independently and demonstrate a commitment to work throughout the 2024/25 season

  • Trade qualifications or equivalent would be highly regarded.
