Employer: Majestic Chinese Restaurant Salary range: $75,000 - $85,000 Majestic Chinese Restaurant is looking for a skilled chef to join their team. Job Duties and Responsibilities: •Participate in menu planning and the development of new dishes and seasonal specials. •Prepare and cook a variety of Chinese dishes in accordance with the restaurant's menu and quality standards. •Ensure all meals are prepared and presented consistently with high standards of quality and taste. •Monitor food quality throughout preparation and cooking to ensure customer satisfaction. •Plan and organise daily food preparation to ensure efficient kitchen operations. •Order and maintain food supplies by monitoring stock levels and ensuring ingredients are stored, handled, and rotated in accordance with food safety and hygiene requirements. •Provide training to kitchen staff by guiding on food preparation techniques, safe work practices, and hygiene requirements. •Supervise staff to ensure food safety, hygiene, and workplace health and safety regulations are followed by everyone. •Coordinate with front house staff to ensure timely preparation and service of meals. •Ensure the proper storage and preservation of food items while maintaining food quality through effective stock rotation and portion control. Requirements for the Role: Must have a Certificate IV level qualification or equivalent in a relevant field. 1-3 of relevant full-time work experience as a Chef. In depth knowledge of culinary methods, kitchen equipment, and food safety regulations. Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills. Creative, innovative approach with a talent for developing new recipes. Ability to perform effectively in a fast-paced environment. Commitment to high standards in sanitation and quality control. Passionate about delivering an exceptional dining experience through food.
