We're looking for our next Burrawa Storyteller!
On our Burrawa Climb, you’ll guide guests through a truly unique climbing experience, bringing to life stories of the Eora Nation. Along the way, you’ll create meaningful moments of learning, connection and pride, helping guests see Sydney through a First Nations lens while delivering one of the city’s most iconic tourism experiences.
All the stories are written in a style of truth telling and reconciliation with the option to bring your mob into the story telling if you feel comfortable doing so.
We have a two pathway options available:
First Nations Storyteller - Casual or Part Time
Focus purely on storytelling whilst a qualified Climb Leader supports the group, managing safety procedures, timing and photography
Training provided, incl. all customisable Burrawa stories
Ideal for people who love talking, being outdoors and connecting with others
Burrawa Climb Leader (Future Pathway) - Part Time
Involves a 3 week paid training program to become a Climb Leader
Training overs safety procedures, bridge operations, photography, codes, bridge facts, and all Burrawa stories
While the next Climb Leader intake is a few months away, people can start as a Storyteller and progress into a Climb Leader role over time if they wish
About you:
Great storytelling and communication skills
Physically active – the Climb involves walking gradually up the Bridge via stairs and ladders
Comfortable working at heights
Enjoy working outdoors (in all types of weather)
Strong attention to detail and ability to follow policies and procedures
Identify as Aboriginal
