About the Role:
With your experience in estimating and proficiency in CABMASTER and PYTHA, youll report directly to the director and help lead a small, experienced group. Youll take ownership of detailed cost planning and competitive tenders for mid-to-large commercial construction projects across Victoria and interstate.
Your Day to Day:
Review drawings, scope, and specifications to formulate accurate cost estimates
You will be a highly skilled Estimator/Onsetter with at least two years of experience in kitchen and cabinetry design
Manage tenders and deliver competitive, well-documented proposals
Source and negotiate with subcontractors and suppliers
Conduct thorough take-offs and pricing analysis
Collaborate with Directors and PMs to ensure tender accuracy and buildability
Contribute to ongoing improvements in estimating processes
Mentor junior estimators and support a strong team culture
What You Bring:
Minimum 3 years experience as an Estimator in the Cabinet Making industry
Strong understanding of cabinet-making materials, construction methods, and industry standards
Proficiency in reading and interpreting architectural drawings, specifications, and project requirements
Excellent mathematical and analytical skills to accurately calculate material quantities and labour costs
Solid working knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite
Solid experience in commercial/industrial construction estimating (ideally up to $2M projects)
Tertiary qualifications in Cabinet Making, Construction, Quantity Surveying, or Engineering
Confidence with Cabmaster, Pytha, Bluebeam, Excel, and construction estimating software
Understanding of Australian construction practices, codes, and supplier networks
Ability to lead and mentor while working collaboratively
Strong attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and commercial acumen
