- The Australian Antarctic Division has developed a Program Alliance to deliver critical infrastructure works at its Antarctic Stations.
- The Alliance Interface Lead will play a key role in ensuring program success through strong interpersonal skills and ability to connect key resources and subject matter experts between the Alliance the Antarctic Divisions teams.

The Assets and Technology (A&T) Branch provides and maintains the equipment and infrastructure to support the AAP. A&T Branch activities range from the maintenance of existing Antarctic stations and equipment through to the design, manufacture, testing, operation and procurement of advanced scientific equipment and systems. The Branch manages major infrastructure projects in support of AAP outcomes.
The Infrastructure Delivery Section is a key element of the A&T Branch and is responsible for the construction of the built infrastructure at Australias Antarctic and sub-Antarctic stations. The section carries out construction activities at the Antarctic and sub Antarctic stations and a project management group at the AADs head office in Kingston, Tasmania. It works closely with other sections within the branch to lead the design, construction and handover of all station infrastructure.

The Alliance Interface Lead will be a strong communicator who can actively build the link between the Alliance and Australian Antarctic Divisions (AAD) teams. You will be highly capable in understanding the critical functions of the AAD and ensure Alliance integration is incorporated to successfully deliver its program outcomes.

What we are looking forWe are seeking candidates who can demonstrate the following:
- Experience in the development, implementation and coordination of relevant Project Management Plans
- Detailed knowledge and understanding of the Australian Antarctic Division systems, processes and operations and how they apply to the Alliance
- Demonstrated implementation of superior project governance
- Understanding of Alliances and an Alliance commercial framework
- Experience and effective coordination of an Alliance and its activities and how they relate to the broader organisation.
- Experienced in managing the flow of information between different work groups and teams to ensure understanding with a focus of outcomes for the Alliance
- are relationship focused with the ability to create deep understanding across AAD Branches and key stakeholders
- strong communication skills
- understanding of high-performance teams.
- demonstrate the range of personal qualities and interpersonal skills necessary to perform as a successful team member within isolated Antarctic and sub-Antarctic environments
- demonstrate an ability to effectively adapt and respond to the demands of living and working in an isolated and confined environment as determined by a psychological (adaptability) assessment
- be certified as fit for Antarctic service by the AADs Polar Medicine Unit.
- A relevant tertiary qualification in communications, project management or similar from an Australian tertiary institution, or a comparable overseas institution, or demonstrated equivalent experience.
Security Clearance - this position requires a Baseline Vetting security clearance. You will be required to obtain and maintain a clearance at this level.
Pre-employment checks - your suitability for employment will be assessed through a pre-employment screening process. This process includes a requirement to undergo and satisfy a National Police Check, referee checks, character clearance and where required a pre-employment medical assessment, specified mandatory qualification(s) validation and a probation period.
