About the Role The NDIS Commission is seeking a highly organised and detail-orientated individual to join our

dynamic team. In this vital role, you will provide essential secretariat, governance and administrative

support, ensuring the smooth operation of our activities and contributing to the Data and

Transformation (DART) Program. This Secretariat position offers a unique opportunity to gain

You will provide secretariat services to key committees within DART, including coordination and

quality review of papers, management of Action Registers, and preparation of meeting minutes.

The APS6 Governance Officer will work closely with a range of senior internal and external

stakeholders and is responsible for:

1. Assisting with the management, organisation and coordination of multiple meeting cycles for

DART committees, working groups and forums, to ensure smooth and successful delivery of

papers, meetings and outcomes.

2. Managing secretariat function for committees, including preparation and publication of agendas,

papers, meeting records and other documentation.

3. Providing advice and assistance to both staff and committee members.

About You

Our ideal candidate will be a highly motivated individual with a contemporary attitude to

people with disability and proven experience in corporate governance. The role requires

independent thinkers who enjoy working in a team environment, as well as the following

attributes:

1. Knowledge and experience in the areas of corporate governance and secretariat functions.

2. Knowledge and experience in successfully setting priorities and working with senior executives.

3. Excellent organisation and written communication skills.

4. Proven ability to communicate effectively whilst anticipating stakeholder needs and expectations

at all levels of seniority across a geographically dispersed network.

5. Proven analytical abilities and initiative to propose and facilitate change and contribute to

business improvement strategies.

Eligibility

All NDIS Commission personnel are required to meet employment suitability requirements

prior to, and throughout, their employment.

To be considered in this role, candidates will need to:

  • Be an Australian Citizen
  • Have a favourable National Police Check
  • Have or be willing to obtain and maintain a Baseline Vetting security clearance. Should

The NDIS Commission is the dedicated national regulator of NDIS service providers in Australia and a

non-corporate entity under the Public Governance, Performance and Accountability Act 2013.

The aim of the DART program is to improve NDIS Commission system functionality and responsiveness

to reduce the administrative burden on providers and support our governance and monitoring

processes. The DART program will also improve identification and response to both immediate and

systemic NDIS risks.

The DART program is responsible for establishing essential, risk-based regulatory capabilities. Amongst

other things, DART will do this by:

  • implementing a COTS Case/Workflow Customer Relationship Management (CRM) including
internal and external facing portals for four parallel delivery streams
  • establishing security, including Identity and Access management and Cyber Security
  • implementing Cloud native data solution, including a data warehouse, open architecture and
APIs, and
  • establishing the NDIS Commissions IT environment.

About the application process

This role will initially be filled on a non-ongoing basis for a period of up to 2 years.

This process may include the following stages:
