- Information & Retail Support Assistant (Clerk General Grade)
- 3 x Casual positions, plus creation of talent pool for casual roles only
- Office location - Warrumbungle Visitor Centre and the Pilliga Forest Discovery Centre
- Casual rates apply, depending on experience ($19.45 - $38.16 per hour) plus employers contribution to superannuation and casual loading

About the role
National Parks and Wildlife Service has a unique opportunity for casual Information & Retail Support Assistants to work as part of the team and contribute towards the conservation of the natural environment, flora, fauna and Aboriginal heritage.
This is an exciting opportunity to be the face of National Parks and Wildlife Service assisting visitors in both the Warrumbungle Visitor Centre and Pilliga Forest Discovery Centre. You will be the trusted face and voice of National Parks, providing guidance, advice, and assistance to all visitors of the area and will continually work in bettering the experiences that NPWS provides to its guests.
About You
You will need to have a passion for the environment and a drive to encourage the use of national parks. The role will require you to greet visitors and provide information on all aspects of the surrounding national parks, taking camping bookings, and providing retail shop assistance.
Experience in providing quality and courteous customer service, while projecting a positive image for the organisation within the dynamic environment; often dealing with simultaneous demands; requiring sound time management and the ability to be flexible, particularly during high visitation times; excellent computer skills are essential, as is the capability of learning new technology.
As this is a casual position you will be required to work weekends, public holidays, and peak periods such as school holidays and long weekends.
Essential Requirements -
- Current Working with Children check.
- Understanding of and a commitment to the aims of the National Parks & Wildlife Service, including a sound appreciation of natural and cultural heritage conservation issues.
- Experience in cash handling procedures, stock control and ordering.
- Experience in computers and using word processing and spreadsheets.
- Current drivers licence.
