We are currently seeking Hospitality Workers to join the team providing support services at Bethanie Subiaco Aged Care Home located in Jolimont. Bethanie Subiaco is a 112 bed luxury facility with an active social calendar that provides a full range of aged care services including dementia support.

This position is being offered on a permanent part-time basis working 26.5 hours per fortnight.

Monday and Thursdays 8.30am - 2.30pm and Fortnightly Friday 9am - 1.30pm.

We are ideally looking for applicants who are happy to work across one or more of the following roles:

• Kitchen Hand
• Domestic Assistant
• Laundry Assistant

To be successful in this role, you will have experience in food preparation, cleaning or laundering practices and be of a friendly nature, as interaction with our residents is core to our culture.

About You

• Previous experience working as a Kitchen Hand, Domestic Assistant / Cleaner or Laundry Assistant, ideally in an aged care, hospital or similar environment
• Have a ‘can do attitude and a genuine compassion for our residents
• Reliable with a strong work ethic
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
• Willingness to uphold the Mission, Vision and Values of The Bethanie Group
• Willingness to obtain relevant vaccinations
• Current National Police Clearance (or willingness to apply for one)

The Roles

Kitchen Hand

• Ensuring responsible work practices of food preparation, kitchen cleanliness and hygiene standards
• Ensuring required ingredients are available daily
• Assisting in the preparation and serving of meals
• Maintaining all utensils, equipment, work benches and general surrounds in a clean and safe condition
• Collecting and washing pots, pans, crockery and cutlery

Domestic Assistant

• Ensuring bathrooms, toilets, furniture, fittings, floors and communal areas are kept clean and tidy
• Ensuring supplies are stocked across the facility
• Liaising with other employees to ensure the needs of our residents are met
• Ensuring residents personal clothing is individually labelled and put away in their rooms, identifying items that require mending

Laundry Assistant

• Ensuring all laundry and linen is laundered correctly and infection control practices are adhered to
• Sorting and washing linen by wash temperature, colour, degree of soiling, infectious nature, fabric and fibre
• Loading and unloading washing machines and tumble dryers
• Sorting and folding clean and dry linen
• Reporting damage or wear and recommending repairs or replacement
