ORGANISATION

Work with Lifeline Australia and you will be helping to support the delivery of critical services ensuring that “no person in Australia has to face their darkest moments alone.”

Lifeline Australia is a national suicide prevention charity providing all Australians experiencing emotional distress with access to 24-hour crisis support and suicide prevention services. They are committed to empowering Australians to be suicide-safe through connection, compassion and hope. This is achieved through a partnership of over 10,000 committed volunteers and their member centres in communities across the nation.

THE OPPORTUNITY

As a Contract Trainer, you will deliver impactful training programs that align with our mission to support individuals and communities in times of crisis. You will conduct high-quality training sessions for both end users and trainers, ensuring all materials meet current best practices.

You will be equipped with a facilitators guide and materials and undertake "Train the Trainer" programs for all our courses. Ideally, we are seeking someone with availability to deliver a few programs per week on a contract basis.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Conduct pre-training sessions with clients to understand context and audience.
  • Deliver training sessions, both in-person and virtually adhering to Lifeline Australias IP and session plans and materials
  • Completing post training emails

The courses are:

  • Accidental Counsellor
  • Managing Challenging Interactions
  • Introduction to Vicarious Trauma
  • Introduction to Domestic and Family Violence (DFV)

REQUIREMENTS

You are a passionate and experienced professional with a strong background in mental health care (desirable) and training delivery. You excel in delivering training programs and are committed to advancing Lifelines mission through education and professional development.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  • Undergraduate degree in psychology, counselling, mental health nursing, or social work.
  • Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40116).
  • Proven experience in facilitating and delivering training, particularly in mental health topics.
  • Experience in virtual / online training delivery.
  • Desirable: Minimum of 3 years experience in counselling or similar roles.
