Primary objective Coordinate, administer and develop quality training resources to improve the financial management of corporate users and government schools across the Northern Territory. This role may also support the facilitation of other agency training requirements, such as human resources, leadership, industrial relations, and infrastructure management. Context statement The Finance Systems and Innovation team is responsible for providing high-quality financial support services to government schools in urban and remote locations. The services include the development of policy and governance, resource development, delivery of training, streamlining administrative processes, monitoring, and reporting performance. Clients include but are not limited to principals and administration staff of schools, corporate staff, and related external stakeholders. The priorities and activities undertaken by the section are varied and change according to DoE needs. Key duties and responsibilities 1. Establishment of internal training program to assist school finance leaders with their operational requirements, including identifying and reviewing current training, consultation on training needs, development of program content and materials, and facilitating participation. 2. Establishment of internal training program for DET corporate staff for upskill and qualification maintenance. 3. Ongoing training program management including delivery of training sessions to participants through face-to-face and online avenues, continuous review and updating of the training program including updating training materials. 4. Maintaining communications and relationships with all relevant stakeholders regarding the training program to ensure effective delivery to meet business needs. 5. Providing ongoing monitoring and reporting on training program delivery including participation levels, participant feedback, meeting of KPIs, costs and continuous improvement activities. 6. Management of training program to corporate finance staff. Selection criteria Essential 1. Demonstrated sound communication skills, including ability to clearly articulate in plain language and to prepare competency- based training programs in administration, finance, procurement, HR and governance. 2. Demonstrated experience in developing, establishing, and managing internal training programs including sourcing and ongoing management of service providers. 3. Demonstrated ability to work independently and to work effectively within a team to manage a variety of diverse tasks in a complex environment and meet deadlines within tight time constraints. 4. Demonstrated ability to build and maintain effective networks with a range of internal and external stakeholders and interact effectively with people from diverse cultures to support organisational outcomes including contract management. 5. Demonstrated high level experience in the use of Learning Management System and content creation software programs (e.g. Articulate, Camtasia, Adobe, Canva, PowerPoint and Ai.) Desirable 1. Tertiary qualifications in, business, accounting, project management or a certificate IV training. A criminal history will not exclude an applicant from this position unless it is a relevant criminal history. The successful applicant may be required to travel and stay in remote communities.
