About these opportunities The NACC has an Investigation Support Officer positions available for immediate filling in Brisbane and Sydney. A merit list will be established to fill vacancies arising in the next 18 months. About the role The position of Investigation Support Officer reports to an Electronic Collections Officer and will work within a small team responsible for supporting the Operations and Operational Capabilities branches. These branches are responsible for conducting complex and sensitive investigations into allegations of corruption in the Commonwealth public sector. These positions provide high level administrative support by undertaking a range of administrative and operational activities to support the delivery of operational outcomes and the achievement of organisational objectives. Key activities
  • Provide electronic monitoring support to the operational areas, including the monitoring and review or covertly intercepted material and the undertaking of open-source research to analyse details and facts.
  • Assist with the quality assurance of transcripts and the provision of basic transcription services.
  • Assist with digital forensics analysis as needed.
  • Provide assistance, when necessary, with search warrants, coercive hearings, exhibit management and other operational activity.
  • Utilisation of databases - Including the interrogation, input, collation and retrieval of data to support operational activity and reporting requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with and assist in the development of policies, procedures, standards and guidelines.
  • Assist with the coordination of operational requests for information to partner and jurisdictional agencies.
  • Assist with processing of invoices, procurement of operational equipment and services, facilitation of systems access to staff, and work with other areas of the agency to coordinate operational requirements.

In addition to these activities, from time to time you may be asked to undertake tasks that are outside your usual span of duties but that are within the range of your capabilities. Supporting one another in this way provides opportunities for exposure across the agency and is an integral part of the Commissions positive workplace culture. Eligibility Employment with the NACC is subject to the following conditions:
  • Citizenship - applicants must be an Australian Citizen.
  • Security clearance - this is a Designated Security Assessment Position. The occupant of this position will be required to undergo and maintain a security clearance to Negative Vetting 1.
  • Suitability assessment - the NACC must be satisfied that successful applicants are of suitable character. They must undergo a rigorous pre-employment suitability screening process that can be intrusive in nature including (but is not limited to) detailed background, character, employment, police and financial checks.
  • Probation - a probation period will apply to a new ongoing engagement in the Australian Public Service.
