This role is classified as Level 3 Commercial role under SBS Australias current Enterprise Agreement (with a base salary range of $89,140- $96,482). The successful applicant will be offered remuneration that is commensurate with their skills and experience and in alignment with this framework.

The Role

As part of the SBS Marketing Department, Media Planning & Analytics team plays a key role in contributing to the delivery of SBS distinctive content.

This position is a 12-month contract as a Channel Lead, responsible from SBS Viceland and SBS Food channel groups. It is a perfect opportunity to step into a leadership position with 3 MPA schedulers as direct reports.

The MPA Channel Lead is mainly responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of the Channel Team, managing BAU campaigns from planning to execution and representing MPA in bigger on-air campaigns as required.

Reporting to the MPA Senior Manager, this role will see you:

  • Take the lead on all operational aspects of the Channel Team, including monthly rostering of future work plans and team resource allocations;
  • Supervise the team of schedulers in the teams day-to-day operations;
  • Prepare weekly channel rundowns, process programming amendments, plan for special and live events, break structures and breakaway schedules;
  • Liaise with TBS, Content, Sports and Sales Operations teams regularly;
  • Take an active role in the process review and improvement initiatives as led by the Senior Manager;
  • Manage BAU campaigns, liaise with program schedulers and the Creative team, influence air-time allocations, weekly priorities and cross-channel promotion campaigns, CMT set-up and track performance.

About you

  • At least 5 years experience in a media broadcast environment, preferably in a similar role with multiple stakeholders, is preferred;
  • Demonstrated ability to lead a team with direct experience in a similar leadership position is crucial;
  • An in-depth understanding of the processes within a broadcast critical teams operations is a must;
  • A positive and can-do attitude is essential;
  • A keen eye for detail, strong communication and organisational skills are key.
