Pregnancy Family Conferencing (PFC) uses family meetings with an independent facilitator to promote early engagement and interagency planning with pregnant women and families at risk of their newborns entering out of home care at birth. Where youll be working Prevention And Response Violence Abuse Neglect (PARVAN) What youll be doing The PFC Facilitator is the primary Facilitator of the Pregnancy Family Conferencing program across North Sydney Local Health District (NSLHD). The role is responsible for facilitating PFC meetings for expectant parents referred into the program and includes: Working directly with the family and agencies to schedule and facilitate Pregnancy Family Conferences; Developing and fostering strong interagency partnerships to sustain and further develop the program.• Participate in ongoing development, implementation, and evaluation of the program.People of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander background are encouraged to apply.
Candidates will need to meet the following criteria:
- Full registration with APHRA as a Senior Psychologist with no less than 12 months service at the 9th year of service as a Psychologist OR tertiary qualifications in Social Work and eligibility for the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW) and post graduate experience at a minimum of level 2 or above, OR registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (AHPRA), relevant post-registration qualifications and at least 3 years experience working in the clinical area of their specified post-graduate qualification, or such other qualifications or equivalent experience deemed appropriate by the organisation.
- Demonstrated ability to apply and share expert child protection and violence abuse and neglect knowledge with colleagues and other health professionals to enhance service delivery, including through the provision of staff education and consultation.
- Demonstrated experience and /or the capacity evidenced by knowledge and skills to conduct facilitation of pregnancy family conferencing or other family-based meetings/ interventions attended by a range of professionals and families. Proven ability to lead; initiate innovative problem solving and work collaboratively with other professionals and complex families.
- Demonstrated high level skills and clinical experience working with families where there are risk of significant harm concerns and understanding of the interrelated dynamics and effects of domestic and family violence, sexual assault, physical abuse and neglect on victims and their children, including in priority populations including Aboriginal communities, CALD and LGBTIQA+ communities and/ or come from a range of socioeconomic backgrounds.
