As part of the AFF team, you will play a vital role in a large and successful agribusiness that spans production, processing, distribution and marketing. Description: About the role Australian Food & Fibre is seeking a motivated and organised Shipping Administrator, based in Sydney, NSW to provide seasonal support to the Shipping team. In this role, you will assist in coordinating export vessel booking for cotton lint and seed, helping to minimise freight costs and improve efficiency of the shipping process. You will work closely with the Shipping Lead to execute the cotton lint and seed sales books, arrange shipping line bookings, and assist with forward planning. Additionally, you will help maintain freight rates and support relationship management with shipping lines and external suppliers. Your role will also involve coordinating cotton shipment allocations in partnership with the Junior Trader and ensuring container releases are open in advance of packing schedules. You will provide general support to the wider Shipping team as needed, helping to ensure smooth operations and effective communication with customers and stakeholders. This is a casual, seasonal position with the opportunity to gain valuable experience in the shipping and logistics sector. This position requires days of work from Monday to Thursday, with the opportunity to work Fridays during the peak season. Skills and Experiences: About you You have a strong attention to detail and thrive under pressure. You are process-focused and enjoy working collaboratively within a team. Your communication skills, both written and verbal, are excellent, and youre comfortable using Microsoft Office products (Word, PowerPoint, Excel). Youre curious and eager to learn, always looking for ways to improve. You have at least 1+ years of experience working in an office-based environment and a proven ability to work as part of a team to achieve common goals. You also have a history of providing high-quality customer service. While not essential, experience in the cotton lint and seed industry, agriculture, or a shipping/freight forwarding role, particularly with containerised cargo, would be highly valued.
