About the Role Are you an experienced HR professional seeking to get involved in building a prototype of a new and different university? Swinburne University is offering an exciting opportunity for a dynamic and skilled HR generalist to join our People & Culture (P&C) team as P&C Business Partner. In this role, you will work closely with executive, senior and academic leaders to provide both operational and strategic advice, driving initiatives that optimise workforce performance and enhance our organisational culture. As a key member of the P&C team, you will collaborate with leaders across the University, offering solutions and recommendations in critical areas such as employee and industrial relations, talent acquisition, performance optimisation, learning and development, and organisational change. Drawing on your own extensive HR expertise and the support of specialised P&C teams, you will contribute to the development and execution of business strategies that support the Universitys goals and enhance its work environment. This role is ideal for a talented professional eager to support senior leadership at a leading institution and make a meaningful impact on the organisations success. About You To be suitable for this role you will need to have experience in the below key accountabilities:
- Extensive experience in a Business Partnering role supporting executive and senior leaders
- Strong understanding of contemporary HR practices and thrives on coming up with innovative but commercial solutions
- Demonstrated ability to identify business needs and develop and implement People & Culture plans.
- Experience working in a unionised and complex environment.
- Sound knowledge of employment legislation and experience in interpreting Awards, Enterprise Agreements, policies and procedures.
- Experience in successful dispute resolution, performance management, grievance handling and mediation.

Qualifications Degree or Postgraduate qualification in Human Resources or a related field such as Business.
