About the Role:

The Department for Education is committed to being a culturally responsive department, where Aboriginal employees, children and young people, families and communities are valued and have input into the future of Aboriginal education. A number of key reforms are occurring within the Support and Inclusion Division in Student Support Services and Behaviour Engagement.

The Aboriginal Support and Inclusion Lead will work closely with Student Support Services to ensure Aboriginal students are central to the design and deliver of services by supporting leaders to develop their cultural capabilities to plan and lead these reforms through goal setting and coaching.

Qualifications:

Essential: An appropriate tertiary qualification including post-graduate qualifications in an appropriate discipline OR relevant experience in service delivery for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities.

Special Conditions:

The successful applicant is required to gain a Department for Human Services (DHS) working with children check (WWCC) prior to being employed which is required to be renewed every five years before expiry. The incumbent will be required to undertake RRHAN -EC (Responding to Risks of Harm, Abuse and Neglect - Education Care) Facilitator Lead (Masterclass) extended course or the online (Fundamentals) course which will be required to be updated every three years.

Remuneration:

MAS3 $127,859 per annum (1.0 FTE) + superannuation (11.5%) and leave loading
