What You'll Be DoingThe primary focus of this position is to provide a comprehensive and specialist social work service to children, young people and their families referred from the relevant clinical area. This includes psychosocial assessments, specialist counselling including bereavement counselling, group work, psycho‑education and advocacy. The social worker works as an integral member of the multidisciplinary team. The senior social work is required to play a key role in service development and continuous quality improvement to ensure clinical needs of children and their families are met. The position takes a leadership role in the development and provision of education programs in the relevant specialty for both social workers and health professionals within SCHN and externally. The social worker also provides a consultative role within bereavement to key stakeholders.
