About the role 

We're seeking an experienced project manager to lead a critical legislative compliance initiative within our business.  

This is a rare 12-month fixed-term contract opportunity where you will lead, shape and deliver critical initiatives in a high-impact project that ensures Coles continues to meet its regulatory obligations.  You will partner with senior leaders across multiple functions to drive meaningful change.

What you will do 

In this role, you'll oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of a number of initiatives impacting a range of functions across the Coles Group.  You will be accountable for ensuring the project remains on track , stakeholders are appropriately briefed and project risks are managed. 

You'll work closely with legal, commercial and compliance teams, providing leadership, structure and governance throughout the project lifecycle. 

You will also 

  • Lead regular steering committee meetings and present progress to senior stakeholders 
  • Monitor project performance, manage risks, and ensure timely delivery of key milestones 
  • Drive engagement and accountability across multiple business units 
  • Support problem-solving and decision-making at senior levels 
  • Prepare high-quality reports, documentation, and governance materials. 

About you and your skills 

You're a seasoned project manager with a strong track record delivering complex, high-profile initiatives in large organisations. You bring confidence and credibility to stakeholder discussions, particularly when engaging senior leaders and steering committees.  

Your ability to navigate regulatory change and translate it into clear, actionable outcomes sets you apart. 

You will also have 

  • Extensive project management experience, ideally 10+ years in large, complex environments 
  • Demonstrated experience leading governance forums and senior stakeholder engagement 
  • Exposure to legislative or regulatory change programs 
  • Strong communication, influencing and negotiation skills 
  • Strategic thinking with strong analytical and problem-solving capability 
  • A tertiary qualification in project management, law, risk, finance, or a related discipline.
